LOCKHART
Need more info on the LOCKHART family of Union Co., SC. James and Ann LOCKHART were found on the 1800 Union Co. census. James left a will there in 1804. He named three children: James, John, and Martha. James was born about 1786 in Ireland, married Delila STACY and moved to Tuscaloosa Co. and Bibb Co., AL. John remained in Union Co. which later became part of Cherokee Co., SC and is buried in the PEELER-PATRICK cemetery in Cherokee Co. He married Mary PATRICK and had Agnes, Gabriel, James, Margaret, John, Jane and Mary Ann. Some of these remained in this area. Would like more info on these and their descendants. The year of James and Ann's settling in Union Co. must have been just after James birth in 1786-approximately 1787-88. The PATRICK-PEELER cemetery was begun about this time. There are other LOCKHARTS in this area at the time of James and Ann's living there. One was a William LOCKHART. What relationship is he to James? Please email j.ssud@sonet.net

LOWE
Lowe-D/189? In Union County cemetery? Help! My g.g.grandmother -Anna Armstrong married a man (think she was married) named J.L. Lowe and lived in a place called Factory Hill in the 1900 census. He was a boarder to a S. Jolly. Anna wasn't in that census record and it is believed that she died in 1899. It is always been said (family folklore) that we had some Indian blood in us and I suspect that this man could have been a Indian. Just a guess but if Anna did die at Factory Hill she might have been buried there in a local cemetery and if he was Indian, perhaps there was a designated Indian cemetery? Any help or suggestions are welcome. Thanks. Jack
