WALKER / WESTON
It appears that my folks went from Charleston to Union
County, sometime between 1808 and 1830. The two brothers,
Daniel and William White Burroughs WESTON, were born on
Sullivan's Island in Charleston, and married Walker sisters
from Union Co, shortly after the girls' father, Jarrett
WALKER, died there in 1825. I have read several places that
they were from Richland Co, but no Walker folks have turned
up there that fit either. My family folklore states that the
Westons were from England and that a Roxie Weston had done
the research to prove that they were to get an inheritance
from London, in the 1930's. The two boys' father was a
sailing captain and their two sisters, Abigail and Rebecca
married two sailing captains, a Grant and a Lowry, and
returned to England for their education. Letters were
written constantly back and forth from England to Union Co,
SC and Barbour Co, AL. Daniel Michael Weston, one of the two
brothers, is my gg-grandfather. He married Sarah Walker. I
have a picture of the family with son Newton A Weston in his
confederate Uniform. His daughter, Martha Lenora Weston, was
my g-grandmother. Daniel is listed in the 1830 Union Co, SC
Census. Then they moved to Barbour Co, AL to the town of
Glennville, where in 1860, he was a postmaster and owned the
local store. William White Burroughs Weston, the other
brother, joined them in Barbour Co, and was ordained as a
preacher in May 1852. I have been in touch once with Charlie
Weston in Clayton, one of WWB Weston's descendants, but have
not heard from him but once. I was hoping that you had ties
to this family and could tell me the name of the boy's
father from Charleston. I know from letters that Charlie
sent me, that their father was a sailing captain. He had
ties to London and the Weston's that were once sponsors of
the London Company. I know that the proof is out there,
because of the earlier research done by "Aunt Roxie",
whomever she was. I have not placed her in any family and
never knew of her. The Westons were always associated with
the Flowers Family from Barbour and Henry Co, AL. Martha
Lenora Weston married William Moses Flowers, my
g-grandfather. They lived in Wicksburg. They moved there
from Barbour Co, where they lived directly across the road
from the Rocky Mount Methodist Church. They are buried
there, along with many others of my family. Does any of this
ring a bell with you. I would appreciate any help that you
can give me as to where to look or whom else to write.
Sincerely, Cal Campbell, 141 Forest Hills, Talladega, AL

He is father of Lemuel R. WILLIAMS, born 1814, probably in

attaining the rank of Major, and was called Major for the
rest of his life. I'm trying to find the mother of Lemuel

Major John claimed some land set aside by the government for
War of 1812 veterans. The small town of Majorville, IL was
named for him, and he helped establish the

Major John married Letitia at some point and more children

married Cassandre SIMMONS, born 1818 in KY; their children
were born in IL, then they moved with some of them to Adair
