THOMAS JEFFERSON CHILDS (CHILES), (b. 22 Nov. 1825 d. 12 July 1907) Served as a corporal/private in Co. G, 3rd SC Reserves and in Co. H, 3rd (Palmetto) Bn., SC Light Artillery. He enlisted in Greenville, SC on 24 Nov. 1862 (90 days). Reenlisted 13 Feb. 1863 in Greenville, SC. He was absent sick during August 1863. On furlough for 30 days as of 2 April 1864. He was married on 3 Dec. 1848 to Annie Street. He was a son of John Chiles and Parmelia Green. He was born in Greenville District, SC. He died in Pickens County, SC and is buried at Griffin Baptist Ch. Cem. near Pickens, SC.JOHN H. CHILES, Private, Co. B, 1st SC Regular (Butler's) Infantry, He was born in 1837 in Greenville District, SC, a son of John Chiles and Parmelia Green. He enlisted on March 22, 1862 at Camp Evans, SC. He was on the muster roll on Dec. 31, 1864.

WILLIAM "WILL" CHILES, Private, Co. G, 4th SC Infantry, He was born ca. 1833 in Greenville District, SC, a son of John Chiles and Parmelia Green. He enlisted on 14 April 1861 in Greenville, SC. He died of disease at Culpepper General Hospital, Culpepper, Virginia on Sept. 11, 1861.

He enlisted on April 5, 1862 at Camp Evans, SC. He was paroled at Greensboro, NC on 28 April 1865. He died on 25 Oct. 1894 and was buried at New Liberty Baptist Church Cem. in Travelers Rest, SC.
LEACEL L. CHILES, Sergeant, Co. B, 1st SC Regular (Butler's) Infantry, He was born on 17 Oct. 1841 in Greenville District, SC, a son of John Chiles and Parmelia Green. He enlisted on Feb. 28, 1861 in Greenville, SC. He was mustered in on May 17, 1861. He reenlisted on Feb. 28, 1862 at Camp Muist, SC. He was promoted to corporal on April 29, 1862. He was captured at Averasboro, NC on March 16, 1865. He was released at Hart's Island, NY Prison on June 17, 1865. He died on 11 Oct. 1917 and is buried at New Liberty Baptist Church Cem. in Travelers Rest, SC.
THOMAS CHILES, JR., Private, Co. A, 3rd Bn. (Palmetto) SC Light Artillery, Thomas was born on 10 Nov. 1848 in Greenville District, SC, a son of Thomas Chiles, Sr. and Catherine Little. He enlisted at age 13, on 1 March 1862. He served in Earle's Battery until 1864. He was married to Martha Jane Richardson and they were the parents of nine children. He died on 15 Jan. 1931 and is buried at Standing Springs Baptist Church Cem. in Simpsonville, SC.

Horse Artillery, He was born on 25 April 1840 in Greenville district, SC, a son of Thomas Chiles, Sr. and Catherine Little. He enlisted on March 1, 1862. He was paroled at High Point, NC on May 2, 1865. He was married on 8 Nov. 1865 to MarthaWashington Watson. He died on 3 Nov. 1939 and is buried at Salem United Methodist Church Cem. in Greenville co., SC.

Elijah Vance Clark's father: Henry Clark; mother: Sarah (unknown). E. V. Clark enlisted November 6, 1863, Charleston, SC, by Capt. Pickens, Company G 22nd Regiment SC Volunteers. Was dischared for medical reasons on December 7, 1863. Certificate of Disability for Discharge states: "Private E. V. Clark of Capt. Pickens Company of 22nd Reg't of SC volunteers at Sullivan Island on the 6th day of Nove 1863 to serve 3 years or the war. He was born in Anderson District state of South Carolina, is 28 years of age, 5 ft. 9 inches high, dark complexion, hazel eyes, dark hair, and by occupation when enlisted a farmer. He has been unfit for duty the greater part of the time since enlisted and it is well known that he has been seriously afflicted for years past." J. M.
