Stephens Cemetery, Nicholson, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania, as seen
from Route 92
To get to the Stephens Cemetery, Nicholson, take
Route 92 out of Nicholson and under the Nicholson bridge (Click
here for pictures of the bridge under contruction about 1915). The
cemetery is on the right, 7/10 of a mile (.7) from the bridge.

ELSIE HOLLOWAY. HIS WIFE. DIED APRIL
5, 1820 AE 87 YRS. MARRIED IN 1751.
WILLIAM STEPHENS. THEIR SON. DIED
JANUARY 16, 1797 AE 21 YRS. ENSIGN PA. MILITIA.
THEY WITH FOUR SONS CAME TO NICHOLSON, 1784, LIVED ON THIS FARM. FIRST
PERMANENT WHITE SETTLERS IN THE AREA. ERECTED 1984. |

Julianna Stephens dies, 1897

Julianna Stephens, who lived with her youngest son and daughter, Loren
G. and Anna Stephens, at Nicholson, passed from this earthly life on
Sunday morning (September 26, 1897), aged 87 years. Funeral will take
place at 2 o’clock this (Tuesday) afternoon from the Methodist
Episcopal church, of which she was a member, Rev, George Ace,
officiating. Interment in Stephens’ cemetery.
