NEWCOMBE PHOTOGRAPHY/CHRISTENSEN--My immigrant ancestor, Hans CHRISTENSEN, was the subject of a photograph by C.H. NEWCOMBE in the 1880s. NEWCOMBE listed the cities of Huron (Beadle County) and Watertown (Codington County) on the photograph. I am interested in anyone that knows anything about NEWCOMBE, his business, or any photo archives--and anything about Hans CHRISTENSEN, who probably died prior to statehood somewhere in the eastern Dakota Territory.

My great-Grandpa Russell BRADLEY was in Watertown listed as a 44-yr old
widower in the 1920 census. He later married Louise KRAUSE and my
grandpa was born there in 1924. Both Louise & Russell died in
California in 1944. I believe they were buried in South Dakota. As
Watertown, Codington County is the only place they lived in South Dakota
I'm assuming that they were buried there. Any info on either of them
would be greatly appreciated...

Am looking for information on MACES that arrived in Roberts and Grant
Counties around 1881. The father, Ferdinand or F.S. had three sons with him at various times. They were Adam W., McNeel and Stonewall Jackson MACE. Jackson MACE died in Spearfish in 1933 and Ferdinand died somewhere in Roberts County in March 1886. The other two sons I know nothing of beyond the fact that they were in South Dakota in the 1880s. Adam W. had a wife named Mary L. and Jackson's wife was an Anna BAILLY. Jackson also later lived in Codington County and all were farmers at one time or another.

I am looking for Daisy and Bernard HURD who lived in Watertown, SD. The
Watertown library says there is no cemetery listing there for them. So,
what about the city directory? Were they listed in the 1929 and 1939 city
directory in Watertown? Daisy was born in the mid 1880s, so she probably
did not live past 1970.

I am interested in the Moes family that resided (resides?)in
Codington county. I believe that they are related to my great-
grandmother, Barbara Moes, who married Theodore Ludwig. They
resided in Luxemburg. Three of their elven children came to
the US. Two of these, Mathias (my grandfather) and Elizabeth,
homesteaded in eastern Colorado around the turn of the century.
According to my father, the Moes family(s)in the Dakotas were
brothers of Barbara Moes Ludwig. I am willing to share infor-
mation on our common ancestors which includes many descendants
still in Luxemburg.

Looking for William Sweeney's wifes' name. She was the only school
teacher in Watertown in the late 20's and 30's I think and she taught in
a one room school house there. Am looking for any information about
these Sweeney's as they are my great grandparents. I know they
eventually moved to Pierre S. D. and that one of their son's names was
Hollis [Bert] Sweeney [my grandfather]. I do not know what county St.
Pierre is in.

I seek information on family of Tomas HVIDHYLD who settled on
farm near Florence around turn of the century. Some time later
(exactly when?) my grandfather Hjalmar Borch NORDTVEDT came
from Norway to live and work on the Hvidhyld farm (Tomas's wife
Heline was Hjalmar's aunt). Around 1910 (exactly when?) Isaac
KOSIER settled on nearby farm near Florence. In 1917 Hjalmar
married Bernice Kosier, Isaac's daughter. I want to know how
long Hjalmar and Bernice lived in Florence before moving to
Chicago IL.
