The Society's objectives are to encourage and assist in the study of family history. We stress the importance of accuracy and documentation in our genealogical research. To this end we strive to preserve genealogical records for future generations, and also assist the genealogy section of the South Dakota State Archives.

On our way to attaining these goals we learn from and help each other in many ways.

The dues are $10.00 per year for an individual, or $12.00 per year for a family. To print out a membership application go here.

Coming Events

The Pierre-Fort Pierre Genealogical Society meets each month on the third Tuesday, 7pm at the LDS Church (506 N. Jefferson, Pierre), unless otherwise listed. Visitors are welcome.

November 17: We will be voting on the upcoming year's board members. The program will be a presentation about tax and land records.
December: No meeting. Happy Holidays
January 19: Meet at the education room at the Cultural Heritage Center - Tax and Land records available at the archives.
