
BHE/HCHS All School Reunion set for September 4-7, 2009
An All-School Reunion is being planned in conjunction with the Buffalo - Harding County Centennial.
The fun will officially begin at 10:00 am Friday, September 4, 2009 and end Monday, September 7, 2009.
· EVENTS: Some of the fun events being planned include: alumni registration, coffee and cookies, class open-houses, alumni potluck picnic, golf scramble, horseshoe tournament, dances, rodeos, art show, quilt show, children's carnival, petting zoo, soap box derby, "Stan" the T-Rex exhibit, hoop dancing, parade, all-denominational church service, free barbecue, horse and buggy rides around the area, Old Timer’s Breakfast and souvenirs.
· CENTENNIAL COOKBOOK: The cookbook committee is asking for recipes for the Centennial Cookbook that will be available in 2009. Submit your recipe and please include your name, address, and phone number and if you are a BHS/HCHS alumni, include your class year. The deadline for submitting recipes is March 1, 2009. · HISTORY BOARDS: We would like to preserve the history of the families that live/lived in Harding County. It would be appreciated if a member of the various families could/would put together a family history board, which then would be hung on display during the Reunion/Centennial. Please put the histories on just one side of a sheet of white tagboard(or more if you need). We would also like to keep them to put in the HC Museum for a permanent display. · CLASS OPEN HOUSE: We need hosts/homes for the Class Open House. Call Diane (375-3728) if you would host one or more classes.
· VOLUNTEERS: We need people to provide cookies for registration, hosts for the registration table, souvenir booth and art show, also for moving chairs & tables, clean up crews, etc. Call Diane at (605)375-3728 or 375-3130 to volunteer or more information.
· INFORMATION: Please read the Nation’s Center News for updates and stories regarding the Centennial, All School Reunion, and Labor Day festivities. A Web site is coming soon.
· DONATIONS: To help defray the Centennial costs, donations may be sent to: Centennial, % Pioneer Bank & Trust, Box 307, Buffalo, SD 57720.
· BHS/HCHS DUES: The Alumni Association would appreciate $5.00 dues from all alumni members to help defray costs.
