Sox stole the Easter eggs

I was thinking about some of our family Easters of the past and remembered one year when we were living in Farmington, N.M. We had built a six-foot redwood privacy fence around our backyard and were in the process of digging in a fish pond. The night before Easter the "Easter Bunny" delivered eggs to the safety of our backyard. In the morning when the kids went out for the big hunt they found NO EGGS!
Being the good parents we were, we joined in the hunt and sure enough, not an egg to be found. Had the neighboring children jumped over our fence? We couldn’t imagine that. Our answer came later in the week when Ed went to fill in the fish pond and our little dog, Sox, was going crazy, barking at the shovel as Ed started shoveling the dirt.
She was our thief! All of the (now rotting ) eggs were soon found ... buried in the mound! Thanks, Sox.
