                                                                        Sophomore Class

In the fall of 1947, fourteen green Freshies entered these halls of higher learning, namely, Reliance
High. Five members of the class completed their elementary education in Reliance and the rest
of the class came in from various country schools. They organized and elected Mr. Henry Sattler for
their class advisor. In due time, they had to appear before the initiation board. They were given all
the   privileges and favors such as airplane rides, walking on eggs and all the other things Green
Freshies have to endure.

This year we returned with three new students added to our ranks. Betty Hoffer and James Jensen
transferred from Chamberlain and Richard Graves from Platte. We enjoyed initiating the Freshies
by having them perform individual stunts, by sending them through the belt line and feeding them
raw oysters.

We have the honor of having the largest class in high school this year. Our class officers are as follows:

                                President …………………  ……………………………Jim Jensen
                                Vice-President …………………………………………Delora Fields
