I am interested in finding information regarding my maternal grandfather Albert MOSESON, and his father, Knud or Knute MOSESON. Albert was born near Flandreau, Oct. 3, 1881, and passed away in Wentworth, Lake Co., South Dakota, where he is buried, on Jan. 1, 1930. His wife Ida KLASSY, was also born and passed away in Lake Co., and is buried in Wentworth. My mother was Erva MOSESON, born in Wentworth in 1912. Albert's father Knud or Knute may, or may not have been born in Moody Co., and I do not know of his birthdate. He did die in 1884, apparently when he was rather young as his son Albert was only 3 yrs. I'm also not sure of his death and burial location, but it was likely in Moody Co.. As I understand it, his wife's name was Amelia ANDERSON. Finally, Knud/Knute's father's name was apparently Andrew MOSESON, who may have been born in Norway before coming to the U.S. (and South Dakota?). Thanks!

MOORE, Lament (age 63) and son Eddie MOORE, age 19, are listed in the 1880 census in Dakota Teritory (Moody County). I am looking on any information regarding Lament and Eddie. I am thinking, Lament is also Editha L MOORE, married to David MOORE. Is Editha L (possibly middle name Lament) the same individual as the following? 1870 U.S. Federal Census > Minnesota > Olmsted > Kalmar (Census page 19) Online pg. 10 of 17 Ancestry. It lists David Moore (61 - Head); Lament Moore (53 - wife); Eddie (8 - son). Living next door to my great-great grandfather: Giles Moore (25 - Head); Laura (nee Terry)(23 - wife); Catherine (10 - daughter); Viola (2 - daughter). Can anyone help find any listings for Lament and/or Eddie in Moody County between 1880 and 1920? Thanks for any leads. - Donna

OSBORNE/OSBORN We have reason to believe that Corrilla Osborne lived in Flandreau for a time and possibly died there. I would place her death sometime around 1890 +/- 5 years. She may have been living with her granddaughter, Corrilla Etta and the surname is unknown. She is a HUGE missing link in my tree. She is my 3rd great grandmother. Here husband is buried in Correctionville, Iowa. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Paula Yount (familyseeker@hotmail.com) Thu Jun 2 17:33:25 2005
Seeking information on Stephen (Steven)YOUNT/YUNT who was a resident of Moody County SD from about 1880 (he is listed on the 1880 Moody Co SD Census) thru 1920. He was listed as a farmer, having a mortgaged farm, but later is listed as a boarder, so not sure if he sold his land, or "lost" it. He apparently never married. He was born in Illinois, although some data suggests Iowa, about 1853 to Silas and Mary Caroline (GAYLORD) YOUNT/YUNT. The family lived in Mitchell County Iowa, where both parents died while the children were all still very young (1860 and 1866) Siblings include: Elvira (1844-1864); Napoleon (1845); John L (1849- 1875); Elizabeth (1851); Rachel (1856); Julia (1858) and Ella Ruth (1860). The only children I have located are Elvira, John, Ella, and a bit of info on Julia. No idea what became of Napoleon, Elizabeth and Rachel. Would like to find out if there is any info on Stephen there in Moody County - particularly land records and possible obit. If this is correct person, he died 17 Oct 1939 and was buried back in Mitchell County Iowa. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
