![]() (Written by Family and Submitted by Darrell R. Fransen) HENRY MARSO came in 1886 and lived on the SE of 8. Their family of six children all grew up in Elk Township. NICK MARSO lived on the SW of 5. He had children: Leo, Bernard, Ray and several girls. He ran the Ford garage in Harrold. Mr. and Mrs. C. Bayne bought his place and made their home there until their passing. JAKE MARSO lived on the NE of 17 on what was known as the Hubbard quarter. He came with his family in 1887 bringing farming implements and many cattle and horses with them. They had six children who all grew up on this place. Lizzie was the homemaker, Susie was a teacher in the Freeland school and later married and taught school at Emory, South Dakota. Mary, the youngest daughter married James O'Donnell and moved to North Dakota. Frank took a claim south of Highmore when he was of age. Native American Graphics by |
