William Thomson 1727- 1778
Grand Uncle from Dollie Howard nee Thompson)
Captain was an important part of the wars in the Americas-
Thomson men were Colonels, Majors, Generals- top Brass!
of Thompson leaders fought for justice and order,
strong, professional achievers with disdain for disorder.
Captain’s father was the “Gentleman of Blair Manor”
unyielding Baptist beliefs made him take a strong stand.
pressure took a toll and off to Wales he chose to go.
passed and the Americas promised him freedom to grow.
Americas were the ‘land of opportunity.’ The Thompsons
William Thomson acquired- Cotton and tobacco, no hard sell-
were large with abundant profits; prosperous lives all agree.
slaves gathered; their needs attended to… the Thomson decree.
children created memories; each climbing the ladders of success
Thomson families made history like the Thomson’s now at rest...
people knew that success breeds success and loving God is cool-
hard work and education provide families with the right tools.
