Herbie Howard, Our dear Man

- Carol Vulliamy

Herbie Howard, Our dear Man

Herbie Howard had a quiet gentle soul

Harming others he’d always fore go.

Younger kids were always safe

Free rides on my motorcycle he’d say.”

Leather jackets and moccasins he wore-

He felt “cool” - fashionable to the core.

Our Herbie loved to party with honeys

Bad women departed with his money!

Life was not easy. He got knocked down.

Though he vowed he’d ne’er wear a frown

Hard work and a few laughs were enough

-Gentle manners and vulnerability- his stuff.

Sister Thelma loved her dear brother lots

His sense of humor she always sought

Humor came easy doing dishes together

Grab the cat- time for a bath- I’ll tether!
