was crucial for travel and food.
Shooting and hunting were Metis survival skills to include.
Learning dialects helped
join the Metis and Indian folk
Understanding and trust is
basic- we must not provoke.
Gabriel learned to accrue
endurance and country mapping
days riding with Dad Isidore, sometimes trapping.
problems and culture learned, understanding was clearer
learned for a reason; he later became their leader.
Life was rugged and hard.
His dear wife Louise passed on
Five lonely years before
new love made him feel he belonged.
Landry could not forget this wonderful father of seven
Life replenishes love; son
named Joseph arrived from heaven.
