Rosalie Howse nee Gariepy or Gardipee- 1884- 1951
was born into a small Metis family in the early days.
meat, tanned hides for sewing clothing was her way
spirituality declined; the Medicine Man feared.
desperately wanted her children to be Christian reared.
A good mom
Rosalie was as she quietly tended to her work
children in- there was beadwork and yarn to rework.
calm friendly demure, teaching others by example-
lived a clean, moral life; her lessons free for sample.
Illness she had with seizures and poor
did not dwell on her challenges or feel resentment
the most of each day; complaints she did not say.
others felt worried and scared, she said time to pray.
lovingly remember Rosalies kind gentle ways
Rosalie would always have candy- quite an array!
our Granny would smoke a pipe; oh so funny.
wanted pictures but Granny was shy and went running.
