          Mr. Liberatus Fred Bretzer

          Bretzer---The death of Liberatus Fred Bretzer, age 67 years, of North Battleford Sask., occured at North Battleford on January 24, 1998. Libaratus Fred Bretzer was born in Denzil, Sask. on July 13, 1930. He went to school at Sunnyglen (outside of Unity). The family farmed south of Unity. He farmed on the family farm until he married Madeline Miller on October 14, 1961. Liberatus bought his own farm outside of Unity and stayed on the farm until 1966. He moved to Luseland and worked for a farm dealership until 1968. Lib owned a hotel in Marshall, Sask. from 1968-1971, then bought the hotel at Wilkie (1971-1974). He moved to Vermillion Alta., for approximately two years and then moved to North Battleford in 1976, Lib was employed byt the Battlefords Union Hospitalfrom 1978 until he retired in 1995.

          Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Madeline; sons; John (Shelly) North Battleford, Sask., family; Danielle, Sean, and Kendall; Wayne, Lloydminster, Sask.; Terry (Sheila), Regina, Sask., family; Sharla & TJ; Dennis (Tracy), Regina, Sask.; Jim (Valerie), North Battleford, Sask., family; Brian, Michael, Michelle and Matthew; brother, Mike (Ann) Bretzer, Unity, Sask.; Sisters: Margaret Fox, St. Albert, Alta. and Mary (Larry) Cole, Camrose, Alta.; Nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, John & Elizabeth bretzer; one brother, Adam and his wife, Barbara Bretzer.

          Prayers were said on Tuesday, January 27th at 7:30 p.m. from the Chapel--Sallows & McDonald Funeral Home. Funeral mass was held on January 28, 1998 at 10:30 a.m. from Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, North Battleford, with Father Chris Szczepanik celebrant. Organist was Mrs. Rose Miller and soloist Mrs. Jaki Esquirol.

          Honorary pallbearers were Larry Cole, Mike Brezter, Leo Kessel, Valentine Kessel, Lawrence Beausoleil, Fern Neausoleil. Active pallbearers were John Kessel, George Fenrich, Ken Bretzer, Barry bretzer, Murray Bretzer, Brad McCubbing. Memorials to masses. Interment was in the Pleasantview Cemetary, Unity Sasak. Arrangements were entrusted to Sallows & McDonald Funeral Home, North Battleford.
