LEIPZIG ITEMS July 20, 1932 Mr. Tony Kaufman visited in Regina last week, where he attended the annual convention of the German-Canadian Catholic Association, the Volkaverein. Mr. and Mrs. M. Aiken, and family of Freemont spent the past week with Mrs. Aiken’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A Kappel. Mr. and Mrs. B. Miller and daughter, Vivian, spent the past weekend in Unity with Mr. and Mrs. Keller. Mr. Adrian Granosky, who ha been in charge of the Searle Grain Elevator for the past three weeks, left the first of the week for Cosine, Saskatchewan where he will have charge of an elevator for the Searle Grain Co. During his brief stay in Leipzig, Mr. Granosky has made many friends, who wish him success in his new location. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Delainey and son Willie, returned to Sunday night from a trip to Sunset Prairie, BC. Mrs. Sam Mitzel, their daughter accompanied them to Scott, where she joined her husband who has been employed near Scott this summer. Mr. John Wolf of Grand Forks, ND visited with his son. C.M. Wolf, a couple of days this week. Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Wolf visited in Saskatoon this week where they attended the golden wedding anniversary of Mr. Wolf’s uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. L. Block. On Saturday afternoon, a picnic was held at Medina School, to mark the close of the school year. A concert was given in the school house by the pupils which was greatly enjoyed by all Later, the Medina girls and Leipzig girls engaged in a game of softball, which was won by the Leipzig girls. Leipzig again came out ahead in the baseball game played by the Medina boys and Leipzig boys. Miss Mary Lang, the teacher will leave this week for Battleford where she will spend the summer holidays.
