The Muller Family

In 1807, my great great great great Grandfather, Christoph Müller left Germany for Russia. In 1808, he and his family arrived in Odessa on the Black Sea, soon to be sent to the new village of Mannheim. Christoph arrived with his wife Katharina and seven children. Christoph's oldest son, Ignatz, is my great great great grandfather who was born in 1797 also in Germany.

CHRISTOFOR MULLER, immigrated 1 August 1808 from Reichenbach, Baden; Catholic; farmer; 47, Wife: Katharina, 43. Children: Ignats, 14; Anton, 4; Christofor 3; Joseph 2.5; Barbara 18; Katharina 6. Total 8. Property 2 horses, 1 wagon.

Christopher first wife Katharina died in 1814 leaving him with 5 small children to look after. So in1816 Christopher married Catharina Hattin (?) according to the Mannheim Marriage Records 1814-1847.

In 1819, Ignatz married Luisa Schmidt, the daugther of Philip Schmidt and Anna Marie Herman also of Mannheim. In 1828, Joseph Müller my great great grandfather was born. Joseph married Katharina Dexheimer (her parentage at this time is unknown), and they had nine children, two girls and seven boys. Katharina died in 1880 after the birth of her last children, my great grandfather Joseph John Miller. Joseph Sr. remarried in 1882 to Katharina Weber Giesinger.
