St. Joseph's Hospital
Father Palm OMI was the first to consider a hospital at Macklin.
In 1921, Father Brabender began the plans for the hospital.
In 1922, the first staff that arrived in Macklin was Sister Euphrasia, Sister Marianna, Sister Serafine and Sister Theodore.
First Docters were Dr. Chapin and Dr. Elliott.
The first hospital building was a house that held 10 beds.
Soon a new building was needed. Bishop Prud'homme helped to aquire loans and in 1926, Mr. Derocher of Edmonton, work commenced.
On May 12, 1927, the new building was completed and in 1928 a new wing was added.
