Grassland to Grainland

I was born in Dayton, Ohio, the youngest of twelve children and came to Canada at the age of four in 1914. The first year we lived on my brother Walter's farm, three miles west of Phippen until our house was built in the Swarthmore District.

In 1933, I married Francis Schwab. We moved back to the Cleavering District and farmed there for a few years. We moved to Unity in 1943. We have three children; Rose (married to Adam Sperle), Beverley lives in Unity and Floyd lives in Edmonton.

I worked at Sifto Salt Plant for twenty two and a half years. We are now retired and living in Unity, Sask.
