(FRANKE), JUANITA and LEONARD PERLINGER
On January 5, 1941 Juanita Perlinger (Franke) and twin brother Wayne were born in Wilkie Union Hospital to Henry and Eva Franke (Miller) of Leipzig Sask.
At the age of six I started elementary school in Leipzig, which was run by the Sisters of Notre Dame. I went on to complete my grade 12 and graduated in 1960 from The Convent of Notre Dame in Leipzig.
Every day was wholesome but Thursdays were the most exciting. The train came to town and all the famers would come in to do their shopping. It was a great day to visit friends and relatives that you had not seen for a whole week.
Before we had a T.V., we had to read books or listen to soaps on the radio for entertainment. The first person to get a T.V. was our nighbor, Henry Reiniger. Many of us kids would patronize his place quite often, especially on Saturday nights when Hockey Night in Canada was on.
After I graduated, I was employed by Sask Tel as an operator in North Battleford. This was where I remained until September 29, 1962 when I married Leonard Perlinger, son of Frank and Eva Perlinger of Handel, Sask. Leonard was also employed with Sask Tel in Saskatoon where we made our first home. I continued to work until our first son was born.
Throughout the years we have been transferred back and forth from Saskatoon and North Battleford. Our present home is at 389 Balsam Crescent in Saskatoon.
We have six children. Wesley is employed with Sask Tel in North Battleford. Cindy is working at the Royal Bank in North Battleford. Rhonda is the mother of our first grandson, Bradley, and also makes her home in North Battleford. Jeffrey lives in North Battleford too, and works at the Out Post grocery store. He also plays Junior A hockey for North Battleford North Stars. Brent and Coralee are still living at home where they are attending school at Evan hardy collegiate.
