WestSide Echos Alfred Knowles, Belton, Buccleugh, Mount Everest, Rosebrier, Rosemary, Scotstown and Sunny Glen SHARON LORRAINE LAUINGER I was born October 28, 1949 at the Unity Union Hospital, the third of Jack and Nellie Burnell. I lived my entire single life on the same farm in the Alfred Knowles district. My first years of schooling were taken at Alfred Knowles School. We lived one and a half miles from school which we travelled either by foot or horse and cart in the summer or horse and cutter in the winter. After five years the school was closed and I was bussed into Unity. I spent three years at the Unity Separate School and the remaining years until my graduation in 1967 at the Unity High School. I also spent a few years as a member of the Rosemary 4-H Club. I married Floyd Lauinger of the Belton School district July 8, 1967, The first two years of our marriage were spend in Marshall, Saskatchewan where Floyd made his living as a building mover. Our first son Kent was born while we were living here. He is now 12 years old. From here we moved to Scott Saskatchewan where we remained for six months. In the fall of 1969 we started farming on the SE 32-39-23 W3 (the old Bosch-F. Tucher farm.) Since there was very little remaining of the old farm site, we rebuilt it, moving a house from Denzil and constructing the rest of the buildings as the ears went by. While here, on January 2, in the Unity Hospital, our twin daughters, Morene and Corene, were born. They were Unity's 1971 New Years babies. We remain to this day on the same location where we have a mixed farm, growing mainly whent, oats and barley, as well as raising a number of hogs and cattle.
