| CERTIFICATE
of MOVEMENT (Transfer Certificate)
Front page of this document Instructions on the reverse page // My comments placed within double slashes. This is very formal, legal language but I have translated it into a less formal English // It is the duty of everyone,
who during the last year has moved into a parish, to
present "prestbevis" // another name for this
certificate // issued by the parish they left, for
themselves and any accompanying persons. The certificate
should be presented without delay and within 14 days of
moving and in any case before Nov 9th the same year. Anyone
who moves into a parish between Nov 8th and end-of-year
should present the "prestbevis" within 8 days. Employer shall, should his servant not already have presented a certificate, demand from the servant and present to the priest such a certificate within 14 days after the servant has begun service. The fine for not doing this is 2 kronor and 50 öre. If he is prevented to fulfil this duty he should report this circumstance to the priest within the given time frame. The penalty will be imposed on the party who does not comply to these rules. // i.e. the employer or the servant // Penalty for failure to comply with the rules in the above 2 paragraphs will be renewed by the same amount every month as long as the failure continues. All owners of estates in towns or in the countryside, or a representative of such an owner, shall, within 14 days after someone moved into his estate, report this to the parish priest unless the moving party has already done this. The fine for not complying is 2 kronor and 50 öre. (Ref to the law of census and taxation) A servant shall, before
moving, present his/her "references" //
evaluation report from the former employer // to the
kyrkoherde // parson, vicar i.e. not the ordinary priest //
before moving out. Should he/she fail to do this then the
vicar shall not issue a "flyttningsbevis" (Ref to
an employment law dated 1838) |
