Sweden builds a great power through wars in 15 -1658 acquiring control over the Baltics and N Germany. Lost this position in 1721 and finally lost Finland in 1809. |

outside Göteborg the sum of 1 000 000 riksdaler. Was paid on
time 1613-19 and Älvsborg was returned. This ransom is genealogically interesting since all owners of taxable land in Sweden had to pay extra tax and were listed in tax registers. Cf first "lösen" |

| 1570-73 | Älvsborgs första lösen | First ransom for Älvsborg fortress
outside Göteborg the sum of 150 000 riksdaler. Was paid on
time 1570-73 and Älvsborg was returned. This ransom is genealogically interesting since all owners of taxable land in Sweden had to pay extra tax and were listed in a tax registers which are preserved. |
