1. SUBJECT: The Thomas R. Bywaters Family Bible
2. LOCATION: At "Laurel Hill" 4 miles northwest of Rixeyville, Virginia, on Route #640, thence southwest on Route #627, .5 mile, thence south on private road .5 mile to home.
3. DATE: 1858
4. OWNERS: The Bywaters Family, Rixeyville, Virginia
5. DESCRIPTION: This bible is eleven by ten inches, and three inches thick, leather bound and embossed. It has the tables of money, weights and time, used in the scripture age. It was published by the American Bible Society of New York City, New York.
6. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: The inscriptions are as follows:
