In Memory of Grace (Hammack)McSpadden

From a newspaper clipping in the posession of Thomas Hammack, Jr. It is probably from one of the Fort Payne/DeKalb County, Alabama weekly newspapers.

In Memory of Grace McSpadden

One lonely day Grace left us,
On earth we'll hear her voice no more;
But some sweet day we'll go and meet her
In that sweet home on yonder shore.

Her father, mother and companion
Will miss her every day and hour.
Since she has gone to join the angels,
Where ther is joy beyond compare.
Some day, I too, shall hear the summons,
How soon 'twill be, I cannot tell;
And then I hope to dwell wth Jesus,
where we will never say farewell.
When all my sorrows here are ended,
And I shall cross death's chilly tide,
I hope to meet Grace at the portals
In that sweet home, ther to abide.

Her friend,
Mrs. Viola Shamblin
