Thailand Historic Periods

Thai history is usually discussed in four periods. The Mahidol University lists the periods as:

• The Sukhothai Period            1238 - 1438 A. D.
• The Ayuthaya Period             1350 - 1767 A. D.
• The Thon Buri Period            1767 - 1782 A. D.
• The Rattanakosin Period        1782 - now  A. D.
