I am researching my mother-in-law's maiden name, BIVENS. Her father was from Palmrya MO. I believe there is a corrputed spelling of original Welsh surname. Can anyone provide any additional information about this theory?

Has anyone followed the BIBENS surname from Tennessee to Missouri to Kansas in the mid-1800s? George W. BIBENS was born July 1857 in Missouri; both parents were born in Tennessee. He married Mary Alice JACKSON ca 1883; she was born October 1862 in Illinois of an Iowa-born father and Kentucky-born mother. In 1900 they adopted 7-year old Samuel Nelson SHOWALTER, who had been orphaned by the death of his father Aaron SHOWALTER, a neighbor of George and Alice there in Welda township, Anderson County, Kansas. Samuel BIBENS was my wife's father. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

Im looking for any information on Elizabeth BIVANS born about 1879 in Sanford, Accomack Co., VA to George B. and Sallie BIVANS. On my grandfathers application for SS he listed his mothers name as BIBBINS but in the marriage book of Accomack County it was listed as BIVANS. She married Thomas J. JENKINS in Accomack co. in 1896. She died in St. Georges Island MD in 1962. Looking for anything on Elizabeth her parents or any siblings. Thank you.
