Avery Trace Chapter Harriman, TN |
History of Avery Trace Chapter, NSDAR
| In the spring of 2004, the DAR Spirit motivated a group of twenty-six women to form a new chapter, much as our forefathers in 1776 were motivated to form a new government. Avery Trace Chapter was organized. The name originates with a route carved out of the wilderness by Revolutionary War veteran, Peter Avery, Sr. The route passed through northern Roane County, Tennessee, beginning near Clinch Mountain. On July 5, 2004, the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution approved Avery Trace Chapter, NSDAR, at Continental Congress in Washington, DC. |

Our group felt honored to have Honorary Vice President General Patricia Rhoton join us for a photo at the 2009 State Convention held in Franklin, TN. See our Awards listing for a complete list of the awards we received this year.
