Our members honored Flag Day with a Proclamation signed by County Executive Ron Woody and a ceremony on the courthouse lawn.

On June 11th we hosted our annual Flag Day Golf Tournament at Southwest Point Golf Course.  This activity is a lot of fun for both our hardworking members and the golfers.  The proceeds also go toward supporting our many charities.

We are continuing our efforts to survey, photograph and catalogue all the cemeteries in Roane County.  The cemetery atlas we created was donated to the Roane County Heritage Commission Library to make it accessible to the general public.

We are proud of the work we do in preserving the history of Roane's cemeteries through our series of Cemetery Atlases.  On April 5 Regent Jane McPherson presented a copy of the Cardiff Cemetery Atlas to Robert Bailey for the library at the historic old Roane County Courthouse.

On February 16 we sponsored our annual Genealogy Workshop and it was our biggest one yet!  The workshop was originally planned for Southwest Point Golf Course but had to be moved to the First Baptist Church to handle the large number of interested researchers.  Members Marcia Pickel and Shirley Smith are always ready to help researchers.
