Genie Workshop

Our chapter conducted a Genealogy Workshop on December 4, 2004.  The workshop was held at the Heritage Commission Library and was open to present and potential members.  NSDAR Genealogist Cheryl Massey assisted us and explained the proper way to fill out new applications and what documentation would be necessary.  Since we were a new chapter, the information she shared with our members will help us in filling out applications for new applicants wanting to join our chapter.

On November 11, 2006, our chapter conducted our second Genealogy Workshop at the Heritage Commission Library.  NSDAR Genealogist (and Avery Trace member) Marcia Pickel conducted the class covering basic genealogy and how to properly fill out forms.  A question and answer session followed with members assisting to give one-on-one help to anyone needing extra help.

On January 26, 2008, our chapter conducted our third Genealogy Workshop at the American Legion Hall in Harriman.  Marcia Pickel once again conducted the class covering basic genealogy and how to property fill out forms.  Resource books were made available with members pitching in to help visitors and other members to locate their ancestors.
