James "Jim" Raines, age 60 of Caryville, Ridgewood Community went
to be with the Lord on Sept. 10 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville.
He was saved on Sept. 7, 2004. He was a loving father and brother. He was
preceded in death by his wife, Susan Withrow Raines; parents, Clyde and Alline
Rains. He is survived by his daughter, Kelli Hutson and husband, Chris of
Luttrell; grandchildren, Amber Muse of Washington, D.C., Nathan Goodman and
Hannah Hutson, both of Luttrell; step-granddaughter, Kalia Hutson of Luttrell;
sister, Mary Ruth Jennings and husband, Everette of Caryville; brother, Jackie
Rains and wife, Della of Caryville. Funeral services were Sept. 12 at the
Holley-Gamble Funeral Home in Lake City with Rev. Jehu Parks officiating.
Interment was at the Ridgeview Church Cemetery in Lake City. Pallbearers were
Terry "Tiny" Houck, Donnie Chambers, Terry Jennings, Tim Jennings, Mike Leach
and Dale Finch. Holley-Gamble Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

July 25 2001 James Clarence Rector- age 88 of 509 Rose Hill Dr.
Lafollette, passed away Wednesday July 25 2001, at Lake City Health Care Center.
He was a retired coal miner of Walden Mining Co. Mr. Rector was a deacon at
Indiana Avenue Baptist Church, and one of his greatest pleasures was being the
greeter at the church on Sunday morning. He loved the church and his family very
much. The Staff and Residents of Lafollette Court Independent Living Center were
very special to him. The family would like to thank the staff at Lake City
Health Care Center for their exceptional care and compassion during his stay
there. Everyone who knew him, loved him, and he will be greatly missed by all.
He is preceded in death by parents, William Russell and Parzida Byrd Rector;
wife of 57 years, Cecil Vann Rector; seven brothers and three sisters-in-law. He
is survived by son, William D. Rector and friend, Vicki Harsh of Tampa Fla.,
daughter Joan and husband Ralph L. Jeffers of Lafollette; grandchildren Scott

Aug.1983 Resident Of Care Center Dies At 96 A resident of
Anderson County most of her life,Mrs.Martha Reynolds,96,died at 2:45a.m.Monday
at Lafollette Hospital. Mrs.Reynolds,formerly of Hicks St.in Clinton,had been
living at Lake City Health Care Center since May. Mrs.Reynolds,a native of
Scott County,was a member of the Jarnigan Chapel Baptist Church.She enjoyed
gardening and quilting.her husband,Ike Reynolds,died in May shortley after both
moved to the nursing home. She also was preceded in dead by two
daughters,Beulah Thomas,who died five years ago,and Elsie Raby,who died
earlier this summer.She is survived by a daughter,Mrs.Ernest
Lee(Georgia)Hatmaker of Clinton, a son,Beecher Bunch of Clinton,13
grandchildren,and six great-grandchildren.Funeral services were held Tuesday at
Holley-Gamble Funeral in Clinton with the Rev.James Cox officiating.Burial was
in Jarnigan Chapel Cemetery.
May 8,1994 Myrtle Cox Reynolds,91,of Clinton died Sunday at
Anderson County Health Care Center in Clinton. Born Aug.11,1902,in Clinton,she
was the daughter of Freeman and Margaret Hillon Cox.Mrs.Reynolds was a member of
Clinton Second Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her parents,her
husband, Alvin Reynolds,and daughter,Willa Ross Kirby.Survivors include a son
and daughter-in-law,Kyle and Maydell Bradford of Clinton,grandchildren,Myrtle
MacTobler of Farragut,and Richard W.Bradford and Dale H.Bradford,both of
Clinton, three great-granddaughters,Michelle Ramsey,Kelly Bradford and
Samantha Bradford,and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services was Tuesday
in Holley Gamble Chapel with the Rev.Ernest Wright officiating.Burial was
Wednesday in Cox Cemetery,Clinton.

18 at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge. She was preceded in death by
her husband, Billy L. Rice, Sr.; parents, Charlie and Lillie Hicks; sisters,
Hazel Bray, Masel Hicks and Carrie Mae Woods. She is survived by her sons, Billy

Edith Richardson, age 93 of Speedwell died June 16 at St. Mary's
Health and Rehab. She was one of the founders of Well Springs Church of God,
where she taught Sunday school for many years. She later became a member of
Community Missionary Baptist Church. She was retired from Imperial Reading after
25 years of employment. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing and her
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Richardson;
parents, Forester and Florence (Smith) Sweat; sister, Helen Heath. She is
survived by her daughters, Patricia Bean of Jacksboro, Wanda Russell and Jean
Leach, both of Speedwell; grandchildren, Nitra Barger, Reene Hill, Terina Brown,
Kim Goins, Starla Berry, Linda Poynter and Tonya Suttles; great grandchildren,
Dustin, Matthew, Paige, Nickie and Shayla. Funeral services were June 18 at

Aug.4,1983 Oak Grove Member Dies At 82 A native of the area
around Jacksboro,Mrs.Nettie Hatmaker Richardson,82,died Monday at Lake City
Hospital. Mrs.Richardson was the daughter of the late Isaac and Becky
Hatmaker,who owned a farm in South Clinton many years ago. She was a member of
Oak Grove Baptist Church.Her husband,the Rev.Walter Richardson,died August 11
years ago.She also was preceded in death by a son,Condy
Richardson.Mrs.Richardson had been active in church and community work. She is
survived by six sons,Elmer G.Richardson of Cape Coral,Fla., Lee Edward
Richardson of Lake City,Fred E.Richardson of Oak Ridge,L.D.Richardson of
Warren,Mich.,I.J. Richardson of Sterling Heights,Mich.and Harry G.Richardson

James Scott Ridenour, Sr. , 41, LaFollette died Feb. 9 at St.
Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County.He was preceded in death by his mother,
Betty Helen Tackett Ridenour.Mr. Ridenour is survived by his wife Betty Jean
Ridenour; sons, James Scott, Jr., and Alan Michael all of LaFollette; father,

Charles Daniel Riggs, age 67 of LaFollette died September 3 at
his home. He was of the Church of God Faith. He loved to piddle with mechanics
and enjoyed fishing. He was preceded in death by one great grandchild; parents,
John Bailey and Nancy Jane Ford Riggs. He is survived by his sons and
daughters-in-law, Bobby and Pam Riggs and Carlos and Karen Riggs; son, Teddy

Bernard Ritschdorff of LaFollette died Oct. 19 at St. Mary's
Medical Center of Campbell Co. He was a member of The Jolly Gestures Clown
Troup. He loved to entertain and put a smile on children's faces. He also was
maintenance manager at Walgreen's Corporate Head Quarters for 25 years. He
served in World War II in the Army Division and earned a Purple Heart.He was
preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Ritschdorff. Survivors
include his sons and daughter in laws, Michael and Edwina Ritschdorff of
Chicago, Martin and Lynne Ritschdorff of Detroit; son, Steven Ritschdorff of
Chicago; grandchildren, Matthew, Meredith, and Elise Ritschdorff all of Detroit;
brother, Joseph Ritschdorff of Tom's River, NJ; sisters, Ann Schrantz and Mary
Ritschdorff both of Chicago; special friends, Bud, Richard, Mary, Barb, Lori,
and Kerwer. Funeral Services were Oct. 23 in the Chapel of Martin Wilson Funeral

Rev. Howard W. Robbins, age 81 of Clinton died Oct. 21 at his
residence. He was a member of the Batley Baptist Church. He had pastored several
churches in the area including West Side Baptist Church, Willowbrook Baptist
Church, Pine Hill Baptist Church and Batley Baptist Church. He was ordained as a
Baptist Minister in 1951 at Pine Hill Baptist Church which he pastored twice in
his ministry. He also served as interim pastor of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran who serviced in WWII and received several decorations
and citations such as Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantryman, Good Conduct
Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon with one Bronze Campaign
Star, American Theater Ribbon and WWII Victory Medal. He was born Aug. 31, 1923
in Lake City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy C. and Ollie E.
Robbins; sister-in-law, Ruth Robbins; niece, Sharon Orye. He is survived by
his wife of 49 years, Frances Lorene Robbins of Clinton; sister, Lucille Green
and husband, Denver of Lake City; brother, Roy Oscar Robbins of Toledo, OH;
sister-in-law, Lillian Ruth Sharp of Clinton; brother-in-law, James E. Harness,
Jr. of Lake City; several nieces, nephews and host of friends. Funeral services
were Oct. 23 at the Batley Baptist Church with Rev. Luke Kidwell officiating.
Interment was in the Campbell Memorial Gardens in LaFollette with full military

Curtis Robinson, age 59 of New Tazewell was born June 18, 1945
and died Sept. 27 at his home. He was a Veteran of the United States Military.
He was an employee of St. Mary's Home Health Care of LaFollette. He was a
longtime employee of Bushline Industries and a locally known artist. He was
preceded in death by his Howard Robinson and Ruby Dillman Robinson Mabe; foster
father, Wylie Dillman and foster mother, Mary Dillman Chadwell. He is survived
by his sister and brother-in-law, Cloeva and Frank Dison of Middlesboro, KY;
cousin and foster brother, Benny Dillman of New Tazewell; half-sister, Fay
Brooks; half-brothers, Fred and Don Mabe, all of Rose Hill and Pennington Gap,
VA; several other cousins and friends. Funeral services were Oct. 1 at the
Coffey Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell with Rev. Robert Yeary officiating.
Interment was in the Manning Cemetery. Music was by Terry Lock. Pallbearers were
Glen Greer, Oscar Pillion, Estil Pillion, Ray Pillion, Cecil Pillon and Russell

David B. Rogers age 89, of LaFollette, born May 27, 1915, died
November 8, 2004. He is survived by his wife Ina Mae Rogers; daughter, Suzanne
Cleary and her husband Edward J. (Ted) Cleary; and his grandchildren, Janet Lee
Hopson and husband Phillip Hopson of Dandridge, Tn; Jennifer Cleary of
Charleston, SC. He was preceded in death by his son, Richard Alan Rogers, who
died while a graduate student at the University of Tennessee; his parents Judge
Jesse L. Rogers and wife Fannie Alexander Rogers; and his brother Paul Rogers,
who died in infancy. He is survived by his brothers, Ben. F. Rogers and Joe E.
(Buddy) Rogers and a sister Jessie Alexander Mitchell.Excluding 4 1/2 years in
the army in WW11, which he entered as an enlisted man and was discharged a 2nd
Lt., Mr. Rogers was engaged in the active practice of the law in Campbell County
for over 60 years, having received his law degree in 1938 from UT. He served in
public office as a delegate to the First Limited Constitutional Convention, as a
Federal Civil Service Investigator, as an Assistant District Attorney General,
as a General Sessions Judge, and, at one time or another, as City Attorney in
each of the 4 towns in Campbell County.He was an active member of the First
Presbyterian Church of LaFollette, Tn. , where he served 8 terms as an Elder. He
has been a director of The Peoples National Bank of LaFollette since 1953. He
also served for many years as the attorney for the LaFollette Housing Authority,
and was named the 1990 Rotary Club Citizen of the Year.Celebration of Life
Services will be held at the First Presbyterian Church of LaFollette on
Wednesday, November 10 with the Rev. Malcolm M. King III officiating. The

Mr. James Lawerence Rouse, - age 86 of LaFollette, passed away
Sunday, July 25, 2004, at St. Mary's Medical Center of Campbell County. He was
owner and operator of Service Grocery in LaFollette for over 50 years, was a
member of the LaFollette First Baptist Church, and a member of the Board of
Directors of Peoples National Bank. Funeral arrangements are incomplete at

Alicia G. Rutherford age 24, of Jacksboro died Oct. 19 at the St.
Mary's Medical Center in Knoxville. She was a member of Norris Baptist Church.
She was very active in her church and was special to all her family and friends
in their hearts. She is survived by her mother, Rita Trammell of Jacksboro;
grandparents, Paul and Beulah Wilson of Jacksboro; great grandmother, Opal
Franklin of Memphis; half brother, Bradley Young of Jacksboro; aunts and uncles,
