LINE

Did your ancestors live in Jonesborough or Washington County prior to 1850?

The Jonesborough Genealogical Society is planning a publication on the early settlers (prior to 1850) of Jonesborough and Washington County, Tennessee.  You do not have to be a member of the Jonesborough Genealogical Society to contribute to this project, but your membership would be very welcome!

Information is still being accepted.  If you have information to contribute about your early Jonesborough ancestors, be sure to get your information to the JGS.  If you are able to volunteer your time and talents to the Jonesborough Genealogical Society to prepare this material for publication, please use the e-mail link at the bottom of the page.

HOW TO SEND YOUR INFORMATION

Send your information in any way that is readily available to you.  Please do not send your only copy of your family genealogy or photographs!  Many photo shops can copy old photographs for a minimal price.

If you have a computer and can compose your family history and any transcriptions in Microsoft Word,  please send
hard copies as well as saving it on a floppy disk or writable CD.

If you have photographs to share and have access to a scanner, please scan at high resolution (minimum of 300 dpi) and print on high quality photographic paper.  You may also want to save it as a .TIF (Tagged Image File) or .JPG file and send it on a CD or floppy disk (image file may be too large to fit on a floppy disk).

Please be sure to identify everything you send (including floppy or CD) with your name, mailing address, e-mail address, and telephone number.    If you're sending photos or CDs, please send in a protective envelope with cardboard.
