A wide range of historical records are now accessible to individuals seeking to document and trace their family heritage. The National Society Daughters of the American Colonists is focused on preserving and documenting the rich heritage of the first years of the United States as a land of promise as well as hardship and a time in which the very essence of the American Spirit was established.

Each chapter has a membership officer, called a Registrar, who can assist an applicant in documenting her lineage and preparing that documentation to apply for membership in the NSDAC.

Who Can Be a Member?
Any woman who is a citizen of the United States of America, is of good moral character and has reached the age of 18, is eligible to become a member of the National Society Daughters of the American Colonists with the following requirements:

  • She shall provide proof of lineal descent from those men and women who resided in America while it was under foreign government as a colony prior to July 4, 1776, and who served in any of the wars in which the colonies participated under the banner of Great Britain, or who served in a public servant role. The full list of eligible service or occupation is provided in detail on the National Society website at www.nsdac.org.
  • Proof of eligibility must be independent of membership in any other lineage society.
  • The applicant must also pledge allegiance to the United States of America and conform to the bylaws adopted by the National Society.
  • Membership is by invitation only.
