State of Tennessee Fentress County July 13th 1838. this Indenture
made and Entered into between Joseph HICKS of the one
part and James BUCK of the other part both of the County
and State of aforesaid Witnesseth that I James BUCK have
this day sold and delivered unto the said Joseph HICKS
for the Sum of fifteen Dollars to me in hand a certain tract of
land lying in said County and State land three hundred acres by
Estimation be the same more or less it being a part of a six hundred
acre Entry made by the said James BUCK and John WOOD
lying on the Waters of Crooked Creek the Boundary as follows beginning
on Gambells Branch on the Winston GILL line near the Coal
bank running East down the branch to the bear hollow thence with
the branch thence South to the Morris or (looks like Buck tar
Kill) Branch thence westwardly with branch and on to t
