While the name is spelled variously ALSIP, ALSOP, and ALSUP, I have standardized the spelling in my records to the latter, which seemed to be the preferred spelling

Living next door to the SAMUEL ALSUP household in 1850 was that of JOHN J. ALSUP, 33, born in TN; his wife, RACHEL, 21, also born in TN; and their two children: JOSEPH, 3, and TENNESSEE, 1.
JOHN J. ALSUP married RACHEL DAVIDSON, October 15, 1848, WCT, by JOHN C. CRADDOCK, JP
A SAMUEL ALSUP married ELIZABETH JENNINGS, December 25, 1810, WCT, with ARTHUR HARRIS, bondsman.
In a reported estate settlement, it was stated that there were only two heirs, the executor, WILLIAM T. ALSUP, and one other and the property was divided between them by their father. [A&ES, 1850-1870, April 2, 1859, p. 77]
STERLING ALSUP was dead by December 26, 1831 when WILLIAM H. ALSUP was aptd admr. [QCR, 1828-1836, p. 439]

WILLIAM ALSUP's petition to legitimatize his six children born to him by POLLY LANE. Court granted request. [QCR, 1833-1835, June 26, 1834, p. 116]
PRUDENCE ALSUP married TAPLEY W. EDWARDS, October 4, 1842, WCT.
WILLIAM F. M. ALSUP was dead by June 6, 1859, when G. M. ALSUP was aptd admr with securities ASAPH ALSUP and S.J. ALSUP. [QCR, 1858-1862, p. 85]
WILLIAM F. ALSUP married LOUISA OWEN, November 10, 1847, WCT, by N. M. GREEN, MG
