...need more info on the Richard Ozment family listed in 1830 cen. Wilson Co., TN, page #71.I believe the "old man" Richard (age60-69,marr. Elizabeth LeCOMPTE,Caroline Co.,MD,1778)listed in same household is my 4th Gr.Grandfather who moved to Wilson Co. from Guilford Co., NC about 1820. Trying to definitely connect this Richard to my (apparent) 3rd GG, Howard Ozment, (born abt. 1778 in MD or VA.,married Elizabeth LISTER Guilford Co.,NC). No record of will or other record giving names of any children for Richard in Guilford Co.NC. Possibly some source in TN can help. I have the info on Eddins/Eddings and Chandler connection to Ozment family - different branch. If I can prove connection between "old man Richard of TN", I can trace back to John OSMENT, Sr. of England.
Can you help or provide lead?
Thanks.

All my other families come from Tennessee, even my Robertson line. The Father of Tennessee (James Robertson) and his wife Charlotte Reeves are in my direct line.

According to your site, we have some surnames in common.
My grandfather (my mother's father) was Joseph Thomas Arrington JENKINS, son of Almerine Burnette (A.B.) JENKINS. According to my records, we are descendants of William Harris JENKINS and Jemima HUGHLEY. I have Jemima being the daughter of Job and Tabitha HUGUELY.
In addition, my father and I are descendants Finis Ewing SHANNON, and Henry SHANNON.
Do these names look familiar? Would you like to share records?

My ancestor James M. DENNIS and Sarah ARNETT were in Overton Co. until after the 1850 census and then moved to Morgan Co., Ill. Many Overton Co. families came as well.
I haven't been able to locate fathers of James DENNIS or Sarah ARNETT.
James DENNIS says he was born in North Carolina as do many of the other Overton County DENNIS'S.
Are these DENNIS'S related to any of the Grainger Co. DENNIS's?
Any way I'll send you a sheet on James as soon as I learn what I am doing. I don't understand what gedcom is yet. I have Family Tree Maker and I can export files, but does the other person have to have FTM?
