WILLIAM KING ALEXANDER lived in Hamilton Co. (Sequashy Valley, near Lookout Mountain) approx. 1820 thru 1850s. One of his brothers or sons made wagon wheels on Lookout Mountain. 2nd wife Harriette Brock. Six children: George, Benjamin, James, CAROLINE BROCK ALEXANDER, Safrona, Malinda, + 3 children from 1st marriage. W. K. ALEXANDER died in 1845- 50. Harriette & Children left Tenn. via wagon train to Opdyke, Il.. I would like to know when he died, and where, and if there is any family members left in Hamilton Co. Tenn. who can tell me his parents names & if he was part Indian (Cherokee?). HARRIETTE BROCK was from S. Carolina (I believe) I am stumped on her origins as well. Any suggestions or info welcome. SMITH - JOHN CHARLES SMITH - TILDON SMITH - DAVE SMITH I am researching the Smith family! TILDON C (probably Charles) (sometimes spelled TILTON) was born 1875 in Hamilton Co, TN according to his death certificate. The obituary shows Father: CHARLES SMITH. A Bible records says JOHN CHARLES SMITH. - I know that TILDON had a brother DAVID l born 1878 om Jasper, Marion Co, TN. However, the 1900 Census in Tarrant Co, TX shows him born in 1882. There was a younger half-brother TOMMY. One would think with this info, I could find them in Tennessee in 1880. By 1900 the boys were in Texas. A grandson says he remembers his grandfather cathing the train in Chattanooga and coming to visit his family when the grandson was about 10 years old. The family Bible says JOHN CHARLES SMITH died 1912 in Chattanooga, Tn. I CANNOT FIND THIS FAMILY IN TENNESSEE in 1880! LEWIS FAMILY They lived in Chatanooga/Hamilton Co. in 1853. Looking any other relatives that might of been in this area prior or after this time. LEWIS,Burve was born 12.04.1853 there. His father (name unknown)his father had been injured one day when he had taken his hogs to be sold, and the person who attacked him did not know that he had not been paid for the hogs. He layed ill for a while before he died from the injury. (They had eight children) Burve married a Juliette Goodman, they had five children, Elizabeth Virginia Lewis, Aramita Jane Lewis, Tessie Isobel Lewis, George D. Lewis, Nellie Ruth Lewis. He married Juliette around Paducah, KY. all of the children were born there. Burve and Juliette moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas when their daughter Tessie Isobel Lewis, became the first women lawyer for the State of Arkansas. Nellie Ruth Lewis. Burve and Juliette Lewis are buried in Ft. Smith, Arkansas.

My grandfather,SHADRICK BUSH, died in Hamilton Co. between 1870 and 1880. His widow, Cynthia, died in 1879. SHADRICK was born in NC in 1804. Came to Sullivan Co. I'm looking for any information about my Greatgrandfather, R.F. CHAMBERS, b. Nov. 3, 1825. He is listed in the 1860 census for Chattanuga, he was married to a Spoline/Oppalem "Ellen" HAYDEN (a Cherokee or Chocotaw) they had 11 children. My grandfather was the 5th child and he was born in Chattanuga so I'm assuming the others were also. There is also a Rebecca Mansfield, age 73, and a James Shelton, age 8, living the household in the 1860 census. I would appreciate any information about this family.

I would to receive any info. available on my great-grandfather, Lilliston Adams Pardue. He was born in N.C. in 1818 and moved to Monroe County, Tn. with his first wife, Harriet Welsh. They had a very large family before Harriet died and he then married my great-grandmother Plinah Johnson. They also had a number of children of whom was my grandmother Joanna Pardue. She had a twin sister Etta and I also heard mentioned a brother named Fred. I think Plinah died in Atlanta, Ga. in 1914 but don't know when Lilliston died. I really would like to find info. on Plinah. I don't know her place of birth, parents or exact date of birth but heard that she was born in Ga. and may have been married once before marrying Lilliston. They apparently took in an Indian child or perhaps more.

The 1860 TN Census lists "M. D. Miller 39, Mary 39, James 16, John 14, Thos. 11, Lafayette 9, Sarah 6, Moses D. 5, and Minerva 2." All of these names except Thos. are also given names of children or gr. children of Martin Calvin Miller, who was b. ca 1828 in Maury Co., TN. His wife was Martha Jane Hill Miller, b. 1828 in Maury Co. Martin's parents were: Anderson Miller and Holly Terrell (Ferrell?) Miller. I believe M. D. may be one of two missing brothers of Martin Calvin Miller. There were also three sisters who are not accounted for. Please help me to make a connection with the lost siblings of Martin Miller.

I am looking for any information on James STANDIFER and his wife Nancy ROGERS. James was born abt 1784 in VA. He and Nancy married abt 1816 in TN. I found a James STANDIFER in Hamilton Co. TN in 1821. Also,, family information says that they lived in the Sequatchie Valley. They left TN and went to Marshall Co. AL abt 1831 and on to Marion Co., TX abt 1838. Nancy's sister Rebecca ROGERS married Gibson WITT. They were in Hamilton Co. in 1850. Rebecca was in Marion Co. TX in 1860. Trying to help a friend, Maria, locate her mother DOROTHY MAI RAPER who lived in the Chattanooga, Tennessee area in 1947. Dorothy was born in May 1930. She married Charles W. Morrell in Georgia in 1946. She had a daughter, Maria, who was born in Tennessee. The family moved to Texas, where two other children were born..a son Rodney and another daughter Karen. Dorothy and Charles divorced in 1952. Karen was adopted by a family named Tidwell from Oklahoma. Maria has not seen, nor heard from her mother since she was 5 years old. Dorothy may have married a man named Rose after her divorce from Charles. Her last known whereabouts was in the area of Sheppard AFB in the state of Texas. Maria has been helping her children compile their family tree and she would like very much to locate her mother and sister Karen. She has no knowledge of her mother's place of birth, or who her maternal grandparents were. I am inquiring about Hiram Milliken who lived in Newport, TN. He served in the War of 1812 as a Private in the 4th Reg., East Tenn. Militia. In 1853 he left Newport taking his family to Hambelton, Tn, before continuing to Missouri. He had four children, Deborah, Elizibeth, Susan and Alec. His wife was Elizibeth Patterson.
