I'm researching the family of Thomas DAVIS and Elizabeth COFER. Thomas was in the area in 1843 when he purchased land with a Washington WOLF in the Occoee district. In 1848, he and Elizabeth sold land in Hamilton, but it is not clear if they were still together or if he was still in Hamilton. In 1850, his children Margaret Ann Davis CAMPBELL, married to James, Robert DAVIS m. to Elizabeth were in the county census. In 1850, Elizabeth would have had the following children still with her: Sarah Elizabeth (called Lizzie)ca 10, Julia ca 7 and twins Thomas Jefferson (TJ) and Nancy Caroline (Nannie) ca 5. Does anyone know anything about this family? I don't ever find Elizabeth again although she dies in so. Ill in 1886 and is buried with most of her children in Saline Co., Ill. I suspect she may have remarried - possibly a WRINKLE / RINKLE - as I find an Elizabeth Wrinkle in Meigs Co., Tn in 1860 with the twins. But I can't find any record of a divorce or remarriage. Also lost Thomas and never find him again. This family is driving me nuts! Any help would be very much appreciated. Robert and Julia MOORE and James and Margaret CAMPBELL stay in Hamilton Co., the rest of the family moves on. There was also a Joseph who may or may not have been with his mother, Elizabeth, in 1850. He would have been ca 17. HELP

Searching for information on James Clark CROWE and Lena ROSE. These two were living in Hamilton County in 1921 when they had a daughter, Elizabeth Lucille CROWE. According to Elizabeth's birth certificate, James was 22, and Lena was 16. Both born in TN.
Currently unsure of James' and Lena's death dates, but James probably died in Rossville, Georgia. Lena remarried Paul WILLIAMS and Elizabeth used that as her maiden name. Lena was the daughter Thomas and Cassie (?) ROSE who are found in Macon County census in 1920. There it also lists Lena as living with her parents, at age 15, and being single.
Also have an obit which Elizabeth kept. It is for Della ROSE CUNNINGHAM. She died March 20, 1975 and was the child of R.B. and Elizabeth Hillery ROSE (prominent first family of Soddy, TN. according to this obit). She was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lillian Gann GRANT.
Would love to hear from anyone who knows anything about these people and how they might connect.

I am trying to find an obituary on Daisy CARLTON who died in August, 1977. I am told she was buried in Chattanooga. Her husband was Robert CARLTON. She was born April 25,1906 in Chattanooga, and if her birth records could be found that would also help alot. I don't know her maiden name yet, so the obituary would hopefully give that information.
Thank you for your time.

Can anyone with an 1850 census look up a James GUNN p. 379a and tell me what it says? I am trying to track a James & Jane GUNN. Their son William was born May 1840 in Hamilton Co (His own words). Jane shows up in 1850 in Lee Co VA with children but without James. Did he die? Did they divorce? There is a record in Grundy Co where a divorce was files: James GUNN vs Jane GUNN. I have no details of the divorce (It would cost $32 to get record copies from TN Library).
Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated. Kim

Where would one search for naturalization records in Hamilton Co. around 1875?
Charles THIEMONGE and Rosa EHRLER were married in Hamilton Co. in 1884 (but as Charles GERARD and Rosa EHRLER). In 1880 Hamilton Co., Charles appears in the household of his mother and step-father:
Just? JERARD 43 Fr Fr Fr
Felicet? 52 Fr Fr Fr
Josephine FISHER 29 Fr Fr Fr married da.
Mary 19 Fr Fr Fr
Charles 17 Fr Fr Fr
In 1920 Jefferson Co., AL (Birmingham), Charles and family appear thus:
Charles THIEMONGE 57 Fr Fr Fr
Rosa 56 Ge Ge Ge
Mary E. 24 AL Fr Ge
Evelyn 15 AL Fr Ge
Charles is noted as having entered the US in 1871, and as having been naturalized in 1875. The assumption is that this naturalization must have been as a result of his parents' naturalization, as Charles would have been only aroud 12 years old in 1875.
Where would I search in Hamilton Co. to find some record of the naturalization of this GERARD / JERARD / THIEMONGE family?
