I am looking for Rufus Franklin McCLURE. He was born 1875 and is listed on the 1880 census with his folks. However, by 1900 he is not with them and was supposedly in Chattanooga. I cannot locate him on the 1900-1910-1920 or 1930 census. He married Frances DIXON in 1909 across the state line in Walker Co, GA. He died in Chattanooga in 1945 and is buried in Walker Co, GA. He was a Mason and did a lot of work that is still standing today in Chattanooga. Can anyone help identify this man?

I am looking for information on my grandmother, Maude Alice (STEVENSON) HUFFMAN, who apparently lived in Chattanooga in 1919. She also died that year, and I believe she died in Chattanooga, possibly of pneumonia or some other respiratory type ailment. My grandfather's name was Dock Millage (known as D.M.) HUFFMAN. In later years, he worked for the Birmingham News in the room where the printing presses were. He had a severe hearing loss when I knew him. Any information on these people, or information on where else to look, would be appreciated. Thank you.

My great-grandmother was Lucille Sarah MAY. She came from a family of six to nine children, of which there were at least five girls: Lucille (b. 1878), Clara, Bessie, Lillie & Nora. My aunt told me recently that there was also a brother named Charles, but I have no other evidence of this. The parents names were Alice (b. 1860) and George MAY, both apparently born in Virginia. There may be other brothers and sisters.
[I have recently found 1880 census documents for a George MAY in Hamilton County with his wife Sarah L. and their daughter Alice. Sarah and Alice's birthyears are nearly identical to mine - assuming that the mother and daughter's names were transposed on the enumeration. George MAY appears again in the same location in 1900. Alice and the above listed daughters are living in Chattanooga.]
Lucille MAY m. "Charles W."(?) CONLEY about 1894. Son Jack(son)/John Ronald CONLEY, b. 1895. Lucille & Charles divorced by 1900. Charles' father probably something like John/Sean/Jean. Charles worked for a railroad, may have been from the New Orleans area.

I am trying to find out info on my g-grandfather, Andrew Jack SHOEMAKER (changed from SHOEMAKE / SHEWMAKE or SHUMOCK) born in Tennessee in May 1860 and a Cherokee. He was in Hopkins County TX in Oct 1886 when he married my g-grandmother, Frances Fannie Eudora RIPPY. They had five children; Mary Melissa (Mellie), William Noah Elmer, John Bascom, Eva Mae or Maud (born & died in infancy in Polk Co ARK 1900) and my grandmother, Era ANDREW. I have them in Polk County ARK on the 1900 census, but do know they went back to Hopkins County TX since my grandmother was born there in 1902. He left Fannie either before or after Era was born in 1902 (she re-married to Geo. BENEDICT in Lamar Co TX in 1903) We believe he went to Oklahoma but not sure. His parents came and told about some kind of trouble in OK. They left and then shortly after so did he. I need to find out his birth info or anything about his family.

I am trying to find info regarding my grandfather, James C. CUNNINGHAM, who was placed in the Chambliss Children's Home around 1885. He was adopted by John McMAHAN of Trenton, Ga. and lived there until he married, Elizabeth CHRISTIAN, a relative of the McMAHANs. His dob was 7/15/1875. Apparently he was orphaned when his mother died in a fire. He also had a brother, John and a sister, Gertrude. I do not know what happend to these two children. When he went to the orphanage, it was called the "Vine Street" orphanage. He was originally from Stephenson AL.
I would appreciate any help you could give. Thank you, Linda Foley

Looking for info on my aunt Lucille JENNINGS born abt 1913-1914 (daughter of Sam JENNINGS and Lola Elizabeth JENNINGS). She was born in Claiborne County Tennessee. Her father died in 1918 in the great flu epidemic and her mother remarried Edward Earl HOLT. By 1930 Lucille (also known as Lucy) is married to Earl HUTCHESON and living with her in-laws. By the census record they had only been married for less than a year. Her age at that time was 16.
Now Lucille married a second time to an Unknown SHUMAKER and was living in Chattanooga at the time of her mother's death in 1967, but at that time all attempts to reach her failed and the family has not heard from her since that time.
I am trying to find anyone who might be descended from her or might now what happened to her. She still has 3 half siblings living, 2 half brothers and a half sister from her mother's second marriage to Earl HOLT. They very much would like to know what happened to her.
If you have any info please write me at Raholt58@bellsouth.net. Thanks. Richard Holt
