Looking for information about my 3rd great grandparents, Jesse KILLIAN and Nancy Ann McKINNEY, both born ca. 1805 in North Carolina. I have a friend who is trying to research her genealogy. She was adopted. Her birth name was Betty Joe Cambron. She was born on Aug 10, 1971. She has a sister (who was adopted by the same family) born Billy Joe Cambron on Dec 22, 1969. They believe her mother to be Patricia Cambron who was 16 years of age at the time Billy Joe was born. My friend believes that Patricia subsequently married a preacher. Both girls were adopted by Charles and Annette Hendrix of Alabama. The birth certificates list Hamilton County as the place of birth. Looking for some type of record on my Uncle Cal. His name was Calvin Stinnett, but he could have went under Calvin Lawson, Yearout or maybe even some other name. He lived in Chattanooga during the early part of the 1900's and was well known as he killed several people there, one on the city bus, just because the man stepped on his toe. I am thinking he should be fairly easy to locate becuase it is certain he had some kind of record, even though he was never tried for the city bus killing or so family lore says. I am sure he is passed on by now, but truly interested in locating a cousin from him. There is a lot of family that wonders what ever happened to his family, as he left home at an early age, Anyone who even THINKS they may have info here, please reply. Will search out all leads and will greatly apprecite them.

Looking for some type of record or confirmation of Calvin Stinnett. He lived in Chattanooga during the early part of the 1900's. I am sure he must have some type of record as he supposedly killed several people, one on the city bus because the man stepped on his toe. According to family lore, Cal never served any time for the city bus incident, but the sherriff did come out to arrest him once, while Cal was having his supper. I can reply more privately. Since Cal was a 1/2 brother of my grandfather, it is not certain he went by Stinnett, he could have went under Lawson, Yearout or even some other surname. There is family that would like to know whatever happend to Calvin and would like to get in touch with some of his surviving chldren or grandchildren.

On Oct 25 1909 a Troup Butler died "in the home of Relatives' in Chattanooga. He was from Wilkes co GA and his remains were returned to Wilkes to be buried by his wife. His father was listed on King's SS-5 as Walter King Lee but on the death certificate for his father it was shown as J. Lee. Other family members show it as James Walter Lee or Walter J. Lee. He was born 8 Dec 1857, place unknown, and died 14 Mar 1942. He was married to Mary Ann Allen. The death certificate for J. Lee (the father of King) also shows his father (J. Lee's) as Walter Lee and mother unknown.

I am looking for any information on any family or persons named AULL. They lived in the St. Elmo area about 1900 and had either a restaurant or a market. They were part of the group of Germans who came to Chattanooga after the Civil War. I do not know if they came directly from Germany or some other place in the US. Sarah Aull married Edward E. BETTS and when she died her sister Idola married E.E.who was an engineer in the city. I believe they had a brother named Fred. I'm looking for any information on my grandfather - James Benjamin BAYLESS. He was a fireman for the city of Chattanooga, lost his legs in a fire accident. He became a County Judge and presided in Chattanooga in the 1930's. He married Elsie Prosser, had 2 children, Mary Louise Bayless and Helen Bayless. He had a number of brothers (7 I believe) and most of them operated a brewery (legal). His father's name was Dr. John Bayless and his mother's maiden name was Anna Raeder. I'm looking for information on my GGGrandmother Anna Jane GOODMAN. Her obit from Klamath Falls Oregon said that she was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee. A post card that I found was from a brother Henry Goodman. Anna Jane married Samuel Tucker in Jersey City, IL in 1881 and eventually moved to Klamath Falls Oregon where she died in Nov. 28, 1925. I am looking for information concerning my father, Robert Youngblood Wert, Jr. He was born in April of 1924 and died in December of 1978. He was a graduate of what was then the University of Chattanooga. He served in the Army. He lived much of his life in Chattanooga, although I do not know if he was born there. He lived in Birmingham when he died, although coincidentally, he died in Chattanooga while travelling.
He married my mother, Marilyn Gertrude Self, in late 1956 or early 1957. They had an unfriendly divorce; consequently, I knew my father only superficially and have never met any of his relatives.
My grandfather was Robert Youngblood Wert, Sr. I believe my grandmother's name was Leela or Lila or something like that.
I'm not really doing genealogy research, just curious about my father's side of the family. I would greatly appreciate any information anyone could provide.
JEWELL
Charles Taylor JEWELL moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee in the 1900S. He supposedly owned property in Hamilton County area. He lived in Tyner at one point and, some of his children attended school in Tyner.

In 1852 my Watkins family moved to Loudon, TN, from Ootewah, TN, near Chattanooga and left kin there. Wm. Watkins b 1805 TN m Knox CO, TN, Margaret Byerley/Bierley, dau. of Casper Byerley, Jr, of SC & wife Mary MOORE b ca 1767. Wm. & Margaret had son Wm. Douglas WATKINS b 1843 who m Nancy Brown HART, dau. of George B. HART & wife Ellen Ekens/Akens. Wm. & Margaret Watkins moved w/Wm's brother Samuel who married Margaret's sister Lucy Byerley to Ooltewah during 1840's. I have many old names from Chattanooga area & am eager to share information.
SPRINGFIELD
Searching for information on William Washington SPRINGFIELD. His son stated that he was born in Chattanooga, Hamilton Co., TN Dec 29 1870. Can find no record of his father Benjamin Franklin SPRINGFIELD living in Hamilton Co. at that time. William went on to marry a woman from Monroe Co. MS. Have heard rumors that "the" SPRINGFIELD family moved back and forth from TN, AL, and MS. Anyone with information or a connection please email me.
