I am trying to find information on Rufus Techumseh Bryson born around 1882 and died in 1948. He supposedly comes originally from Bryson city NC. He married Minerva Mae Yates, they had two daughters and four sons. Rufus was a foundry worker at the Atchinson Foundary. He is said to buried in Greenwood cemetery, there is no headstone or marker.
Minerva's parents were John W. and Mollie Yates. She is probably from Somerset KY. The only information I have on John W. is that he is buried somewhere near Bowling Green,KY. Mollie was a full-bloodied Cherokee Indian that I have been told walked the Trail of Tears when she was fourteen years old. She is buried in potters field in Greenwood cemetery and there are no markers. She lived to be well over 100 years old. She died as a Waters. I don't know if she was married to a Jessie Waters or not. Any information on any of these people would be greatly appreciateld. Rufus and Minerva are my grandparents, and Mollie and John are my great grandparents. Thanks

Juda/Judy/Judith COPE is mentioned in a book-- "History of
Hamilton Co & Chattanooga Tenn.", Vol 1, page 271. Have not been able to find it. I think that it was published pre-1940. It tells of how she was captured by Indians and how she escaped. Does anyone have access to that article? Juda COPE was born about 1775. She was married first to a HOPKINS [possibly Parker] and later to Henry BANNER in about 1810. I would appreciate any information about any connected families. Buffie
