VERMILLION, STOUT

Robert Vermillion married Finella Stout in Hawkins County in 1876. They had one daughter, Nancy Vermillion. Robert is supposed to have died in 1881. Would like to know whether Finella remarried, and what happened to Nancy. Any help appreciated.

I am seeking any information available for BUSSELL. My grandmother was Martha L BUSSELL born 1860 Clark Co. Arkansas. she had 7 siblings. I beleve her paretns to be Richard BUSSELL and Celia, maiden name unkown."Then the within Deed was proven in open court by the oaths of William Paine Jacob Manus and Martin Johnson. Richard Mitchell-clerk (Hawkins TN microfilm 972798 transcribed by C. Hammett, 1995) In his will dated 14 Aug 1814, and proved in Hawkins County, Tennessee (no date), Jacob MANAS (MANUS) named wife, Margaret; sons Daniel, Ephraim, Elijah; daughters Elizabeth MANAS Heirs [not specified], Sarah PAINE, Annas JONES, and Nancy VARNUM. The will was witnessed by Edwin HAMBLEN, H M. BUSSELL and John JONES. GAINES, CORUM

I am searching for the parents of Robert E (C?) Gaines (b. cir 1812) and Celia Corum (b. cir 1814) who were married on 1/13/1835 in Grainger, Cty. and are listed in the 1860 census. He is probably the grandson of Robert Gaines (b. cir 1739 in Orange Cty, VA. and d. cir 1805 in Grainger Cty) and Mildred Bohannon. I believe the family was living in the portin of Hawkins Cty. which was used to form Grainger Cty. Robert E. Gaines is possibly the son of Robert Gaines, Jr. (b. cir 1772) or Ambrose Gaines (b. 7/7/1763). Any information about either the Gaines or Corum families would be appreciated.

Jeremiah Cloud Pelletier, b Mar 1852, and his wife, Mary Wood, b Jan of 1855, were living in Sullivan County, TN during the 1880 and 1900 census. My grandfather, James Matthew Peltier was their son. I am looking for a connection between SOLOMON SIZEMORE and SOLOMON JOHNSON. Solomon Johnson lived with Solomon Sizemore as a child in 1870 and lived close to him later. Have recently discovered that Solomon Johnsons full name was SOLOMON SIZEMORE BRIGMAN JOHNSON.All information we have found says that ANDERSON JOHNSON and MAHALA ROBERSON/ROBISON were the parents of Solomon Johnson. HAGOOD

Looking for information on my HAGOOD ancestors, Arden S. HAGOOD (1839-?); John Wesley HAGOOD (?-1906) and James Stephen HAGOOD (1893-1979)-born Hawkins Co.,TN. Arden Hagood resided in Jefferson County, TN when he enlisted into CSA military unit Walker's Battalion, Thomas' Legion, Company G as a Private in September, 1862. His birthplace is given as Hawkins County, TN. About November, 1862 this company became Company H of 1st (Carter's) Regiment Tennessee Calvary. Arden is listed in 1870 Census Index for Jefferson County. Looking for more information on Arden Hagood, his family and his ancestors, and military service of his unit.

MORRISON, MORELOCK

Searching for Richard MORRISON married Martha Light Hennards.They had several children. My g-gr father, Henry Nelson MORELOCK married Sara Emma Lou RYAN. His mother was Margaret Emoline MORRISON who married his father John Harve MORELOCK. Sara's parents are William H. RYAN and Mary C. DUNCAN of Ft Blackmore, VA. Henry's from Kingsport, TN.Richard and Martha's last living grandchild was Rosa MORRISON. She was my last contact in 1996. Looking for any information on BENTON, LOONEY and VAUGHAN families, in Sullivan and Hawkins Counties before 1800. Fereby BENTON married William VAUGHAN in Cherokee Nation, she was said to have been daughter of a James or Jesse BENTON and a ----- LOONEY. Her mother, the LOONEY, was said to have been Cherokee. Possibly a descendant of Robert LOONEY. A Looney Tol-lem-Tees-Key, a Cherokee, was Fereby's cousin, probably emmigrated to AR before Trail of Tears. Anyone researching these lines, please contact me.
