In 1985, the Hawkins County Genealogical & Historical Society published Hawkins County Cemeteries Volume 1 covering Civil Districts #1 (St. Clair, Strahl & White Horn), #2 (Mooresburg, New Life & Choptack) & #8 (Bulls Gap). This CD covers all graves in that first volume plus the addition of 2081 new burials catalogued in the 63 cemeteries that we have recently updated.

Not all cemeteries in the 1st volume were visited because of the time involved in so doing. It has been 22 years since these cemeteries were catalogued. Some are now inaccessible because they are completely grown up with trees, honeysuckle, briars, poison ivy, etc. It is the opinion of the authors that no new burials have recently taken place in these cemeteries.

A notation was made on the cemetery address of those we were able to visit and update.

We also have a section on this CD of photographs taken in these districts of some of those that served in the Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the Civil War. Click on individual photo for a larger picture.
