Lookup Volunteers for Hickman Co.

A few rules to abide by - you MUST put Hickman Co TN Lookup in the subject line of your email to these volunteers. It is also a must that if you respond back to the volunteer after the initial request, that you send a copy of the original request in the body of your email. Many of our volunteers do lookups for multiple counties and states and for many people. It helps them to remember what the original request was.

A personal note from Me, dont ask them to do your research for you. That's not what they are here for. Be specific in your requests. No general lookups, as in "please send me all info you have on John Jones" etc.

That being said, we love our volunteers and would appreciate you offering to do lookups too. If you can do that, just drop me a line and let me know what resources you have... JW

A note from Sam

Hi there Friends and Folks with Hickman County Family Ties.

My name is Sam Sneed, and I live in the NE corner of Hickman Co., TN. I'm sending this note of introduction to those of you with some sort of link to the Hickman Co. Genealogy Web Project. I have accepted the responsibility of being the county coordinator for our web project. I did this because I have planted my roots in this county for the past dozen years, and I also do computer work for a living. I have two teenage children in the local school system. We intend on contacting different faculty personnel to solicit volunteer help on "OUR" County Genealogy Web Project.

If you would care to have your name listed on the main page of the project as a volunteer lookup, and your email address added as a link, please let me know. If you have Census CDs or Books, or if you have other genealogy research material, and you would like to assist others, then simply drop me an email or give me a call.

If you have other ideas for our project, please let me know. We have hundreds of cemeteries in the county that need tombstone transcriptions made and placed online. There are church history documents stored on bookshelves that also become important research data when made available to the public. Millions of researchers around the world have become involved within the past three years in placing and acquiring free online genealogy materials. Each of us can use this medium to donate our documentation to be archived for global public viewing.
