The image of page 65 (the first page) of this census is faded in many areas, and the last two columns of the age categories for white females is not visible for the most part, making it impossible to know the number of white females in the two age ranges of 26 to under 45, and 45 and up. A "-" has been placed in the column to indicate that I saw no mark in that spot, but I could not be certain that there was not an entry hidden there. Question marks in the name field indicate that I was not certain about what the name was, usually due to fading. A question mark in place of a number indicates that I was uncertain whether I was seeing a faded number or a smudge or stray line, but that there was a mark in that spot. There were no zeros in any column of this census, only blank spaces, but I use zeros to maintain the numbers in the right position. A slash "/" has been placed between the major groups of columns, i.e. white males, white females, occupations, male slaves, female slaves, free black males, and free black females. Pages after 65 have less of this problem of columns obscured in the fold of the book, and for a lot of the entries all columns are visible. For those who have only the last column of white females (45 and up) missing, sometimes it is possible to obtain evidence of what would have probably have been in that column. If you add up the number of individuals in the three columns for the three groups of occupations (agr com mfg) their total for that household should equal the total number of individuals 10 years and over including slaves. This seems to work most of the time. Some exceptions are children under 10 counted as working and elderly sometimes not counted as working. There should never be more people numbered in the occupations columns than the number of people living in the household. There was a column in this census for the number of individuals of foreign birth, but since there was not even one person indicated as foreign born, I have omitted that column. The census taker's total for that column was also zero. At the end of this census are 8 heads of household who are out of alphabetical order, whose surnames begin with "A" and "C". At the end of this census are the column totals for the county.
