This is the inaugural edition of Lincoln County Tennessee (LCT) Pioneers in web format. My mother founded the print version in September 1970 and published it without interruption until her death in 1997. Thus, she preserved in over 2,500 pages much about the history and genealogy of LCT which might have been otherwise lost forever to future researchers. This web version is not as much of a challenge as was my mother's effort. She started with a typewriter and a mimeograph machine. Each issue required enormous energy and constant correspondence and research. This web version does not pretend to replace, much less better, the printed Pioneers which will stand as a permanent contribution to the history of LCT.
There are two major differences between the web version and the print version. First, the web version will have clickable links to other web pages. This means that while parts of it can be printed, the whole issue can't be printed with one command. Nor should it. Some of the links could be to a file which is 200 pages long. The second major difference is that the web version can be and will be revised when necessary. I plan on clearly indicating the revisions to reduce confusion.
Comments, etc. are welcome. Contributions in digital form are
also welcome.
