Am searching for any information on my ggrandfather JOHN WESLEY FURGERSON (May have been spelled Ferguson, Fergerson, etc.) who married MAHULDIA BRUCE. Census Records in Hopkins Co., Ky say they were both born in Tennessee, and that their first five children were born there. They were in Hopkins County in the mid 1850's. Since there are a number of Furgersons and Bruces in the 1830 and 1840 census records of Lincoln and Humphreys Counties, I am wondering whether they might have located there before moving to Hopkins County, Ky. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Am searching for information on my gggrandparents -- JOHN WESLEY FURFGERSON AND MAHULDIA BRUCE FURGERSON (may have been spelled FERGUSON.) My information says they were born in Tennessee, and moved to Hopkins County, KY sometime before 1854. At the time they left Tennessee they had five children. John was born on January 15, 1814 and Mahuldia on September 4, 1815. In the 1830 and 1840 Tennessee Census, there are several Bruces and Fergusons IN lINCOLN COUNTY living in close proximity. I believe it may be possible that our John and Mahuldia may be a part of one of these families. ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

In the 1840 census of Lincoln County there is a JOHN FERGUSON listed as head of a household that included a female between the ages of 20-30, a male between the ages of 20-30, and a male child between 0-5.
