The Social Security Death Index (SSDI) contains about 80 million
records of those who collected Social Security and died. The
records begin in the 1960's and run to the current month.

Beyond searching for individuals, records may be searched by
last residence (for example, Lincoln Co, Tenn) or by birthday.
Other searches are also available. A search for last residence
of Lincoln Co TN yeilds 10,000 records. Unfortunately the
results are listed in order by SS# which is not too useful.
