State of Tennessee, Marion County.
TYSE D. SMITH
I, ELSEBURY COGGINS, have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to, TYSE D. SMITH, and his heirs forever for the consideration of seventy-five dollars to me paid a tract of land in the State of Tennessee Marion County District No. Ten. containing by estimation one hundred acres be the same more or less and bounded as follow lying in said County on the waters of Battle Creek on the south side of HARRIES TURNPIKE ROAD, beginning on a large Red Oak and Post Oak mark A.W.H. on a Ridge in the fork of said Turnpike and the Old Bunt State Road; running thence south crossing a large branch and said Turnpike Road one hundred poles to a Dried Oak and pointers; thence east crossing said Road again one hundred and sixty poles to a White Oak and Black Gum; thence north one hundred poles to a stake below the Cliff; thence west one hundred and sixty poles to the beginning, including a Spring near the Cliff a improvement at the Fork of said Road.
To have and to hold the same to said T. D. MITH, His heirs and assigns forever I do convenient with the said T. D. SMITH, that I am lawfully seized of said land have a good right to convey it and the same is unnumbered I do further convenient and bind myself heirs and representatives to the said T. D. SMITH, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever this the 18th day of November 1854.

Executed and delivered in our presence this the 20th day of November 1854.

Personally appeared before me, James H. CONATSER, Clerk of the County Court, ELIAS SMITH and JAMES COGGINS, with whom I am personally acquainted who after being duly sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with ELSEBURY COGGINS, and that he made and execute the within deed of conveyance upon the day it bears date for the purposes therein contained and expressed.
